This book opens the series of The Grand Hotel San Michele Notebooks /I quaderni del Grand Hotel San Michele. It contains a selection of writings produced by participants during the Italian Diaspora Studies Writing Retreat 2023, held in the wonderful and historic Grand Hotel San Michele in Cetraro (CS, Italy). The collection depends on the group stay and is therefore configured as a collective writing experience. The texts included show how the connection between people of different geographical and cultural origins lays a basis for reflection on the complexity of diasporic processes. In addition to the poems of one of the most established voices of Italian diaspora literature, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, the volume includes texts by debut authors and by authors who have already published. Each
text is followed by an Italian translation provided by Margherita Ganeri.
Questo libro inaugura la serie de I quaderni del Grand Hotel San Michele/The Grand Hotel San Michele Notebooks. Contiene una selezione di scritti prodotti dai partecipanti durante il seminario residenziale internazionale Italian Diaspora Studies Writing Retreat 2023, tenutosi nello splendido e storico Grand Hotel San Michele di Cetraro (CS). La collezione è stata prodotta durante il soggiorno del gruppo e si configura perciò come un’esperienza di scrittura collettiva.
